Look around the case. It may have some slider/switch to enable wireless adapter.
What brand/model of laptop is it?

Or a key combination. Usually the fn key and one that may have something that appears to be an antenna.

Your connection seems to be perfectly fine.
Wireless settings are fine and pinging Google and Yahoo works just fine.
It looks like your Internet Explorer is having some issues.

Restart computer and try IE again.
If any problems, I need to know what exactly happens.

If IE still doesn't work, try different browser.

One other question if I may in addition to Broni`s.

Are you still using Shaw cable as your ISP? Or have you switched providers since the machine was last used?

i get an error saying

your last browsing session closed unexpectedly
would you like to restore your last session or go to home page

which is weird becuase i hvaent used this computer in 2 years-- just turnd it on today. usually this happens after it crashes right? its been off for a long long time.
anyways ive picked restore last session. and i've picked go to home page. and both times i get the regular Internet Explorer encountered problems and needs to close. -- send error report or dont send.--

not using shaw no. using telus now i beleive.

Are you still using Shaw cable as your ISP?

Good question, because DNS settings indicate Shaw as a provider.

I still need you to try a different browser as a step one.

We'll go from there.
