Hi, I need your help!

My pc is infected with many viruses. I have tried many things but I can't clean them all.

My Internet connection drops and my gmail is slow.

I will post what stopzilla finds in a minute.

I have completed all the steps in the Preparation Guide.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

Welcome to Bleeping Computer.

My name is Shannon and I will be working with you to remove the malware that is on your machine.

I apologize for the delay in replying to your post, but this forum is extremely busy.

Please Track this topic - On the top right on this tread, click on the Option button, and, in the drop-down list, click on 'Track this topic'. Under Subscription Information, click on 'Immediate Email Notification' and then click on the Proceed button at the bottom.

Do Not make any changes on your own to the infected computer.

Please set your system to show all files.
Click Start, open My Computer, select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.

Now, let's look more thoroughly at the infected computer -

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • We need to create an OTL Report
  • Please download OTL from here:
  • Main Mirror
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Change the "Extra Registry" option to "Use SafeList"
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them into your reply:
  • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
  • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

Information on A/V control HERE

Next, we need a log from the GMER anti-rootkit scanner, but, first, we need to disable your CD Emulation drivers.

Please download DeFogger to your desktop.

Double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Disable button to disable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_disable which will appear on your desktop.

Do not re-enable these drivers until otherwise instructed.

Next, please download GMER from one of the following locations and save it to your desktop:
  • Main Mirror
This version will download a randomly named file (Recommended)
  • Zipped Mirror
This version will download a zip file you will need to extract first. If you use this mirror, please extract the zip file to your desktop.
  • Disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
  • Temporarily disable any real-time active protection so your security programs will not conflict with gmer's driver.
  • Double-click on the randomly named GMER file (i.e. n7gmo46c.exe) and allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
  • Note: If you downloaded the zipped version, extract the file to its own folder such as C:\gmer and then double-click on gmer.exe.

    Posted Image
  • GMER will open to the Rootkit/Malware tab and perform an automatic quick scan when first run. (do not use the computer while the scan is in progress)
  • If you receive a WARNING!!! about rootkit activity and are asked to fully scan your system...click NO.
  • Now click the Scan button. If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
  • When the scan is finished, click the Save... button to save the scan results to your Desktop. Save the file as gmer.log.
  • Click the Copy button and paste the results into your next reply.
  • Exit GMER and re-enable all active protection when done.
-- If you encounter any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode.

Once you have the above logs, click on the Add Reply button below, copy in the contents of the two OTL logs and the GMER log. Also include any comments that you might have concerning the infection(s) and the infected computer.

I cannot run DeFogger. When I try to run it a window appears for a moment and then DeFogger icon disappears from my desktop. There is no defogger_disable log. I thing I had the CD Emulation drivers disabled before posting here though.

Hi-

Thank you for the logs. I am not seeing any infections in those logs so we will keep looking.

Please run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)
  • Click on the Update tab and click the Check for Updates button.
  • When the update is finished, click on the Scanner tab.
  • Select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

Then, please download MBRCheck by clicking here and save it to your desktop.
  • Be sure to disable your security programs.
  • Double click on the file to run it (Vista and Windows 7 users will have to confirm the UAC prompt).
  • A window will open on your desktop.
  • If an unknown bootcode is found you will have further options available to you, at this time press N then press Enter twice.
  • If nothing unusual is found just press Enter.
  • A .txt file named MBRCheck_mm.dd.yy_hh.mm.txt should appear on your desktop.
  • Please post the contents of that file in your next reply.

Hi-

Thank you for the reports. Let's try a different approach.

Download Combofix from either of the links below, and save it to your desktop. For information regarding this download, please visit this webpage: how-to-use-combofix

Link 1
Link 2

**Note: It is important that it is saved directly to your desktop**

1. Close any open browsers.
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.

How to Temporarily Disable your Anti-virusl

Double click on combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please copy the "C:\ComboFix.txt" into your reply.
Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

In your reply, please copy in the contents of the ComboFix report and let me know how your computer is doing.
Shannon

Hi-

Since the infection is blocking ComboFix-

Please run Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM)
  • Click on the Update tab and click the Check for Updates button.
  • When the update is finished, click on the Scanner tab.
  • Select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy & Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Note: If you are unable to get MBAM to run, download one of the following Rkill programs to your desktop, run it, and then try MBAM again. If you are unable run the Rkill you downloaded, download another one, and try it.
Rkill.exe
Rkill.com
Rkill.scr
Rkill.pif

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 or 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process, if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Please copy the MBAM report inti your reply.

EDIT:

After that I was able to run Combofix!

A pop up appeared:

This machine does not have the 'Microsoft Windows recovery console' installed. Alternately, an existing installation of the recovery console may be present but requires updating.
Without it, ComboFix shall not attempt the fixing of some serious infections.
Click 'Yes' to have compofix download/install it.
NOTE: this requires an active internet connection.

I clicked yes on that.

Then another window pop up

Please click 'yes' in the End User License Agreement (EULA) dialog that folows...

I clicked OK and then yes

Then it run for a wile

the report is:

Hi-

I am happy that you were able to successfully run ComboFix. There is more to do.

Your version of Java is out of date. Older versions have vulnerabilities that malicious sites can use to exploit and infect your system. Microsoft: ‘Unprecedented Wave of Java Exploitation’
Drive-by Trojan preying on out-of-date Java installations
Ghosts of Java Haunt UsersPlease follow these steps to update Java:
  • Download and install the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) Version 6.
  • Look for "Java Platform, Standard Edition".
  • Click the "Download JRE" button to the right.
  • Read the License Agreement, and then check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
  • Under Product / File Description, find the Windows x86 Online and click on its link.
  • Click on Run.
  • Once installed, you will be asked to restart your browser.

Next, we need to run an OTL Fix.
  • Please reopen Posted Image on your desktop.
  • Copy and Paste the following code into the Posted Image textbox.

Hi-

Probably not, but you should go ahead and remove the rest of the ZoneAlarm Toolbar.

To remove it click"start" on the taskbar and then click on the "Control Panel" icon.
Double click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon.
A list of installed programs will be "populated" (this may take a bit of time).
At the end of the list, find ZoneAlarm Toolbar, click on the entry, and select "remove".

The last scan you did with MBAM was a Quick Scan instead of a Full Scan. Please run MBAM, update it, and do a Full Scan on both C:\ and D:\ drives.

Thanks.
Shannon
