Here's my problem. My anti-virus gave a message saying it had updated and I needed to reboot. I was in the middle of something and hit the "postpone" option. A while later, my computer crashed to blue screen. I turned it off by holding down the power button, waited a few seconds, then turned it back on. I've tried multiple times and I cannot get passed "checking nvram." It hangs immediately following that with the blinking line. I cannot even boot into safe mode.

However, I have a backup boot drive, and I can boot from it. Problem is, it becomes the C drive and when I access System Restore, it only wants to do it on this drive, not the one with the problem. I don't want to fully restore from the backup because it's a bit old, and it would take forever. I just want a way to undo the anti-virus update on the other drive.

Anybody know a solution? I'm using Windows XP Home. Thanks.
