Hi

I have a Compaq Evo small form factor running XP Pro.

I've had this problem for about a year, but occasionally it disappears.

The issue is, is when i shut the pc down, it's occasionally hard to startup again. I get the initial black screen with Compaq across the middle in big red letters & then i get the Windows XP black screen with the blue left to right loading page & then it just loops back into the 'Compaq' page without progressing to the Blue 'Welcome' page & then on to desktop!
After the black screen with 'Compaq', i get the attached screen, of which only the 'Safe Modes' options work!

This is a problem when having to restart after Microsoft updates. Sometimes i can be there trying for hours, other times it just goes straight through without a problem!
I can start ok in Safe Mode.

I'm having to keep my pc in hibernate all the time to be on the safe side!!

Help appreciated
