How do I set a password for my wireless network?

I reset my linksys wireless router because I couldn't remember the password and now I have not been able to set a password for it. I am using windows XP on a Dell to try and set it up. The wireless network shows up on my computer as linksys and I am using it right now without it being secured. How do I rename this network and give it a password?
