AN EMPLOYEE LOGGED ON TO WINDOWS 2003 SERVER SP2 AND CLICKED A LINK ON THE INTERNET. FROM THAT POINT WE COULD NO LONGER SEE THE DESKTOP DISPLAY ITEMS. NOTHING SHOWS IN ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, PROGRAMS ETC... CHECKING IN EXPLORER ALL PROGRAMS ARE THERE WITH THEIR EXECUTABLES BUT ALL SHORTCUTS HAVE DISAPPEARED. I TRIED TO COPY THE SHORTCUTS BACK TO THE DESKTOP BUT I NEVER GET THE PASTE OPTION WHEN I RIGHT CLICK ON THE DESKTOP. Hello let's first try to update MBAM as that one is old.

Rerun MBAM (MalwareBytes) like this:

Open MBAM in normal/regular mode and click Update tab, select Check for Updates, when done
click Scanner tab, select Quick scan and scan (normal mode).
After scan click Remove Selected, Post new scan log and Reboot into normal mode.

If needed try safe mode with networking to get a desktop.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
