Yesterday, my comp was still run as normal. Once window update(IE9 update)done and I restarted my computer and played game(PES 2011), the graphic started being not clear and then blue screen occurred. Afterward, I cleaned up the dust in my CPU and also updated my NVIDIA driver to 270.61 version. However, blue screen still occurred repetitively until I was forced to start in safe mode.

So, I hope to find out any problems before further action.

Here is the error came out from the blue screen..

Technical information:

As you have probably figured out, this is your video driver. You updated your driver, but did you uninstall the previous driver first?

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

In order to see if there is something else that we are missing please download BlueScreenView BlueScreenView using Safe Mode with Networking.

No installation required.

Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

It definitely is the Nvidia driver causing this problem. It seems that there are some computer running Windows 7 with this driver having this type of problem. One of the suggestion I've read is to do a Microsoft update after installing the driver.

The following suggestion is from this article.

1. Click Start, type Devmgmt.msc into Search bar and press Enter.

2. Expand the Display adapters, click Uninstall and restart the computer.

3. Repeat the above steps, right click on the display card and click Update Drive Software.

4. Click Search automatically for updated driver software.

Meanwhile, I find that the NVIDIA display card driver cannot work normally with some computers in Windows 7.

You could try to test this issue in Clean Boot mode, if the issue persists in Clean Boot, I would like to suggest you send the feedback to NVIDIA Support and ask them develop a new driver to avoid the similar issues.

This is a current response in the topic which points out that theses issues are still unresolved. Hopefully Nvidia will develop a new driver which will resolve this issue.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

I appreciate your reply.

Oic.. so this is 270.61 version problem, not my graphic card problem.

May I know why do I cannot open in normal window?
I only can open in safe mode and it is definitely no problem working in safe mode with networking. Is it my RAM's problem?

Plus, may I know the above steps work in safe mode too? Because I really cannot open in normal window..

No, this definitely is not a problem with your RAM. All indications point to this being a driver problem.

Safe Mode works because it is using drivers that are part of the Windows operating system, these are known as native drivers. Because you are able to use this in Safe Mode we know that the problem is not your graphics card. If there was a problem with the graphics card it would be the same in both regular mode and safe mode.

One thing you could try would be to use a earlier version driver.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.

May I know how to search a earlier version driver? Since NVIDIA driver search is always search for the latest driver, I unable find the earlier version in the same time support my graphic card model and window.

For your information, I'm able to open in normal window now.(but still, most of the time stuck when loading window)

The things I did just now were..
1. Launched startup repair.
2. Then able to open in normal window.
3. Uninstall driver as stated above.
4. When computer restarting, monitor indicate "no signal has been detected".
5. Then I took out and re-insert the RAM several times until can run window again.
6. After that, I did the Update Drive Software as stated above.
7. Then suffered again in opening window.

And now, I'm in normal window mode.

Hopefully this will help in solving my current problem.

Thank you.

Sorry for posting continuously. Please ignore the 11st post.

One thing you could try would be to use a earlier version driver.

I aware that after uninstall the "defective" driver, I can run the window. I have tried the version of 258.96, 190.38 and 181.71 which I think is compatible to my hardware. But all these versions came out with this message.

"The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."

http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=154298
This link shows the problem I'm facing now. Unfortunately, I cannot understand the method he suggested.

So, any ideas? Sorry for disturbing again.

You are not disturbing, so don't worry about that.

Did these problems start after you updated to IE9?

If this is the case, the simplest way to handle this would be to do a System Restore. From what I've read people who have tried the methods suggested by Microsoft aren't having success uninstalling IE9 or rolling it back to IE8. But System Restore has been known to fail as well, so let's try Microsoft's suggested method of uninstalling it first.

The following is an excerpt from this article.

  • Log in as Administrator
  • Close all IE browser windows
  • Open a "Command" windows by Clickin Start > Run > Cmd
  • Open "Notepad"
  • Copy and paste the text below into Notepad. This will convert the html below into plain text:
FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"

Next copy the text from Notepad and paste into the Command window at the disk prompt and then press the enter key.
  • After the commands run and the disk prompt returns, paste the text again and rerun the commands.
  • Next reboot to finalize / update the configuration with IE8.

If this method doesn't work try the System Restore.

Go to Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> System Restore.

Click on System Restore and then click on Next for the two following pages.

On the page titled Choose a Restore Point click on a date prior to your current problem and then click on Next. To see earlier restore points click on Show Other Restore Points.

On the following page you will have the option to view the programs and drivers that will be deleted. To go to the next page click on close and then Next.

On the following page click on Finish. You will then be prompted to confirm that you want to start the System Restore by clicking of Yes. This will immediately restart your computer to finish the System Restore.

After the computer has restarted click on Close.

Hi dc3,

Is the post above is all related to uninstall IE9 and then roll back to IE8? If so, I am sorry to you because when I checked back the version for my current IE, it shows IE8 only. Last time, window found the IE9 update and required to restart computer to process the update. Yeap, I did restart but did not know why it is still IE8 version(I'm sure it is IE9 update).

So, when I did the 1st step you mentioned above, it said "Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum" not found.

Then, when I did the 2nd step you mentioned above, the previous update I found in System Restore was only 6/5/11(means yesterday) driver update.

I'm sorry again about my mistake but honest speaking I did not cheat here.

Besides that, can you response this post faster? I'm not complaining you what.. Because my computer has encounter 2nd problem besides driver problem. So, do I suppose to post my 2nd problem together with driver problem or after driver problem?

KkianN, I am a volunteer here at BC with a life outside of these forums. It is unfortunate that you find my response time to be too slow to suit you. I will see if I can find another member to assist you.
