Hi guys and gals, I'm JR and a complete newbie to the site. I have spent an entire 3 day weekend fixing my PC after I got hit by the Vista Security 2011 virus (not sure if that is the official name). Mcafee, and Spybot S&D cleaned up everything but two problems. The first problem was a .exe association which I fixed with multiple attempts at various reg edits. The second is the redirect virus. If I do a search and select one of the search results I may be sent to an random site of totally unpredictable content. I hear that your Combofix is the solution but your site warns about attempting the fix without your support. So where do I start?

Moved from Vista to Am I Infected.
