I find that XP will not recognize certain CDs. A window asks me to insert a CD when there's already one there. It recognizes some CDs but not others. For instance, it does not see the WINDOWS CD or the Office CD but it recognizes others, like WORD 2000.

I recently "cleaned up" my machine because it had some bugs. Did I delete something important?

Help please!

What do you mean by 'recognize' exactly?

Currently home chillin' with the fam and my two dogs!

The first thing I'd try is cleaning the drive, using a CD-cleaning disk.
