Need to restore my hard drive, however I lost my restore disks. Is my computer an expensive door stop?

You can contact the computer manufacturer and ask for another set or you can purchase an OS disk and do a clean install. It's also possible there is a hidden restore partition on your system. Without more information from you, that's the best I can offer.

Sorry, I'm new to this. I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW510F running windows 7 64 bit. Not sure what other info you may need.

When your system first boots start tapping the F10 key. Do you then get to a screen with several options including: Create Recovery Discs?
