Howdy Bleeping Computer forum, and thanks

I have an ASUS motherboard running WinXP SP3. I have a USB modem USRobotics 5635 plugged in all the time into a USB expansion card [NOT usb hub].

Although the modem is plugged in at boot and at all other times, and it shows power at all times, it disappears from the
Device Manager window.

How can I diagnose or check the low level settings for USB devices?

I am using this modem for Fax sending using WinFaxPro 10.03 which is no longer supported or updated.

Do the motherboard USB slots work? If so, have you tried plugging the device into those?

Have you connected any other USB devices to this card?
