I'm trying to remove Windows Recovery virus from Vista. Successfully ran RKill but when I try to run Malwarebytes setup it starts to run then shows access denied, correct problem and run set up again. I've tried renaming and that hasn't worked. Any suggestions?

Hi TAL10,

Try right clicking malwarebytes and run as administrator.

I got Malwarebytes to run, unhide files and everything looked good. However on reboot Windows Recovercy virus still there. Ran PC Tools scan and removed again but again reappears on reboot. I'm getting messages such as WTR Loader has stopped working and problem with IDE/SATA hard disks. Not sure if they are generated by virus or not. Any ideas on how to proceed?

Hi TAL10,

Try this http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-tdss-tdl3-alureon-rootkit-using-tdsskiller then rerun rkill and malwarebytes.
Good Luck
