First off, not sure if I should post this here or in the internet section. If I'm wrong please let me know.

I'm running a Toshiba Satellie A215(passed down to me from a relative) with Windows Vista home premium SP2 , AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile. 2 Gig memory, 32 bit operating system. I haven't tried connecting the laptop to the net via ethernet.

I fired it up and tried to connect to an existing network I have set up. And upon trying to connect it says" unable to connect" I clicked the diagnose problem button and it told me to contact the admin or ISP. The router I'm using is a Westell router with AT&T DSL. I will soon be formatting my hard drive. Pretty sure that has nothing to do with the price of rice in china... Possibly incompatible with the router? Thanks in advanced...

Follow the instructions for hooking up to a router and modem.
Unplug the power, wait 20 seconds and plug in both router and modem.

Didn't work. Thanks for the reply. I actually accidentally fixed the problem myself. Apparently the previous was using a wireless aircard from Criket. And thus the settings were changed on the wireless configuration. I had to change the security type from Shared to Open. Thank you though. you can close this topic.
