Training for a career in Information Assurance

About a semester away from my information assurance graduate degree. I've been looking for entry-level security jobs, and was wondering what I could do to improve my chances of employment.

I don't have any certificates, no MSDA. Are those a plus, should I get those?

Any advice you have would be appreciated.
