Hello to everyone Im a new Member to this forum,Im asking my first question.

Windows XP home2.6ghz
512mb ram norton internet security 2011

A few days ago i started getting norton messages an attempt to attack your pc has been blocked, constantly even when not on the internet.
after running ad aware and spybot and finding nothing,i tried Malwarebytes, success it found 15 items which were mainly fake adobe reader updates which i had innocently downloaded ( the boxes were very convincing).the malwarebyt scan took hours.i have since scanned again and nothing has been found. the problem now is that the pc is freezing up after about 20 mins, the only action available is to crash the machine and restart, svchost.exe is running very hungry cpu and would appear to be infected in some way,but it may be completely innocent.
would anyone have a solution for me as to what is stealing the cpu in task manager which incidentally will not open unless it is open first at the start of each session.any help anyone can offer would be much appreciated

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
