My computer has picked up something called Spyaxe which has the appearance of an antispyware program, but also spreads itself so quickly and comprehensively that it also has the appearance of spyware itself. I have tried to get rid of it by identifying files and deleting them (after a search), through scanning with Ad Aware, but they always come back. I have not been able to identify files from a Hijackthis scan. It appears first in the start up icons when the computer is booted.

I have tried smitRem in safe mode, but I must be doing something wrong. I downloaded smitRem to desktop but when I tried to run it, I was advised that all files had been extracted (whatever that means) and nothing happened.
