I had gotten the Windows Recovery virus but because of bleepingcomputer.com, I was able to remove it. Except now, one of my external hard drives that contains music/movies is not working properly. When I navigate to that drive, it appears empty. However, the movies that are stored on it, are still able to be played on my Itunes. Therefore, I know the data is still on the drive, I just can't see it.

I unplugged the hard drive and connected it to another CPU. All the files show up, except, they are faded out (or semi grayed out). Therefore, I cannot play them on the other CPU.

At the end of the bleepingcomputer steps for removing the file is a program called "unhide". Unfortunately, it only unhides the C\drive. Could the virus have affected my drive?

Like I said, since I'm able to still watch the movie, which is mapped from my Itunes to that specific drive, I know it's there. If I right click in Itunes on that movie to see in windows explorer, it shows that it's empty.

Any insight?
