My computer is slow again, if I open a tab the address bar reads C:\Chromescript\SC328492384r or something like that and I'm not even using google chrome, I can't get a screenshot.

Any help? It's slowed to a crawl for some reason but logs show up clean.

Hi,

sorry still catching up.

Have you taken a look at C:\chromescript? What does it contain?

It doesn't exist, when I open a new tab it appears in the address bar. *EG, the address bar now is the URL to this topic.* - but it swiftly disappears. The computer runs fast in safe mode with networking, which I'm using to type this now, it still has the strange address bar but the computer is swift in safe mode. Without safe mode the computer will now take up to 4 minutes to load the internet.

Also, when in normal mode and I try to open up my firewall settings *Zonealarm* - the screen is blank. No logs no nothing. Screen shot: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/94/odds.png/

Hi,

could you please try uninstalling and reinstalling zonealarm and see if that fixes your issue with it.

Please also run this scan to look for those chromescripts:
Please run OTL again and use the following settings:
  • Check Scan All Users.
  • For Processes choose none.
  • For Modules choose none.
  • For Services choose none.
  • For Drivers choose none.
  • For Standard Registry choose none.
  • For Extra Registry choose none.
  • For Files Created Within choose none.
  • For Files Modified Within choose none.
  • Under Custom Scans/Fixes paste:
    C:\chromescript\*.* /s

  • Finally hit Run Scan and wait for the log to open.
  • Please post the content of the log into your next reply.

It's not chromescript, it's different. It looks like chrome://fctoolbar and then many strange characters, I can't tell.

Hi,

what browser are you using? Firefox?

If so can you start firefox' safe mode and see if that stops here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Safe_mode

Fixed, I was using Globalmojo but also had Firefox installed. I uninstalled both, downloaded Firefox 4.1, ran Ccleaner a few times, everything is clean as are my malware logs.
