Internet shuts down after a few minutes

Okay so last night my internet was working fine. I didn't download anything unusual. When I woke up my internet was off. After checking the router, pulling out all the pugs and resetting everything, I got it working again but it went out after about 5 minutes. Now the only way i can connect to the internet is if I unplug the cord and pull it back in or disable/renable my internet connection. And I only get between 2-10 minutes before it stops working. The router is working normally. Green lights on everything. I'm getting the green light on my cord connection as well. There's no issues, then suddenly the internet is just gone until I disconnect/reconnect. It's driving me crazy. Any help would be appreciated. Here's the Hackjackthis file.

Also, this is a home network, 2 other users, I connect directly, it's not wireless. Never had an issue for 3 months, and now it's chronic.

I also use Windows 7 home. I use firefox to browse, I do use btjunkie to download things occasionally, but it's rare and only from verified torrents. My antivirus is symantic endpoint protection

The last time I reloaded my computer I got the error message Enumerite device win32_cdromdrive fail!!

sorry about the double post I wasn't sure which forum to put it in.

Okay so I tried a few things. I bought a new cable. It's not the cable. I flushed my IP, reset my IP config, reset my winsock, ran the winsock fixer, and the internet still goes down typically after 2-10 minutes. I am losing my mind. :(

I'm desperate for help if anyone has some suggestions.

I also downloaded and ran spybot search and destroy.

I also downloaded and ran malware bytes.

Scheduled an appointment with Geek Squad for tomorrow.

Update. Internet has currently been up and running for two hours steadily for no particular reason. I disconnected/reconnected a couple of times, started watching some youtube videos, and it's been fine.

However there is a still a big red X by my local area connection. I'm going to cancel the geek squad appointment for now but I'm guessing my internet troubles are only on temporary hiatus. Is that redundant?

Can anyone help me before I have to start connecting/disconnecting every 5 minutes again?

Update: The problem started again for no particular reason. It appears to only be happening on the weekend starting around Friday 11 am eastern until Monday morning at about the same time. Nobody else's internet appears to be affected in the house. This is two weekends in a row that I've had this issue.

My ISP isn't reporting any issues.

I'm not trying to bump my post, I don't seem to be able to edit it at all. If you can merge this into my original forum post I would appreciate it.

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.
If you are unable to create a log because your computer cannot start up successfully please provide detailed information about the Windows version you are using: What we in particular need to know is version, edition and if it is a 32bit or a 64bit system.
If you are unsure about any of these caracteristics, just let us know and we'll help you figuring it out. Please also tell us if you have your Windows CD/DVD handy.


Please include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those we suggest while we are cleaning up your computer. The reason for this is so we know what is going on with the machine at any time. Some programs can interfere with others and hamper the recovery process.

Even if you have already provided information about your PC, we need a new log to see what has changed since you originally posted your problem.
We need to create an OTL Report
  • Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • In the custom scan box paste the following:
    msconfig
    safebootminimal
    activex
    drivers32
    netsvcs
    %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.exe
    /md5start
    explorer.exe
    winlogon.exe
    wininit.exe
    hlp.dat
    /md5stop
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTL.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt<--Will be minimized

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Watch Topic.I suggest you click it and select Immediate E-Mail notification and click on Proceed. This way you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

After 5 days if a topic is not replied to we assume it has been abandoned and it is closed.
