MS Office is too expensive for me and so is Excel. An alternative is gnumeric which I have installed on an old computer. The gnumeric program seems to work, but I do not know it very well, and I never learned Excel. Someone tell me, how much alike are they? I would like to try to learn Excel but I do not have a working copy and it's too expensive. I was hoping that if I could find a book to learn from, that I could use gnumeric with the book I may find, instead of actually using Excel. Will this be good enough to adequately learn Excel?
