Hi

This problem has happened recently every time I start my computer and I tried googling the problem and no relevant results came out so I'm hoping Bleeping Computer could help me out here.

I attached the image below so hope people know what is going on.

Thanks

It looks like an issue with one of these:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
  • Microsoft Visual Basic .NET 2003 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Visual C# .NET 2003 Standard Edition
Let's see, what's running there....

Download Autoruns for Windows: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
No installation required.
Simply unzip Autoruns.zip file, and double click on autoruns.exe file to run the program.
Go File>Save, and save it as AutoRuns.txt file to know location.
You must select Text from drop-down menu as a file type:

Go Start>Run (Start Search in Vista), type in:
msconfig
Click OK (hit Enter in Vista).

Click on Startup tab.
Click Disable all
IMPORTANT! In case of laptop, make sure, you do NOT disable any keyboard, or touchpad entries.

Click Services tab.
Put checkmark in Hide all Microsoft services
Click Disable all.

Click OK.
Restart computer in Normal Mode.

NOTE. If you use different firewall, than Windows firewall, turn Windows firewall on, just for this test, since your regular firewall won't be running.
If you use Windows firewall, you're fine.

Same problem?

Hey Broni

This is great that the popup doesn't show up anymore. However, some other programs doesn't seem like they are loading or functioning anymore such as Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor and a lot others. What do I do now?

Thanks a lot for your time!

That was a setting for testing purposes.
Now, we have to find out, which starting item is triggering the pop-up.

Get a gallon of coffee (:)) and let's get started...

Go back to "msconfig" and re-enable ONE of the services, you just disabled.
Restart computer.
No pop-up?
If so, re-enable next service.
Restart computer.....and so on.
When you're done with services and still no pop-up, go ahead wit startups....
...until you find the culprit.

Hey

It took me a while to re-enable all the services and start ups. I didn't manage to go all the way through but I did disable one of the more suspicious looking start up items and the stub for binding popout didn't show up anymore.

I can't type it in because it's in a bunch of strange chinese characters so I copied a screenshot.

Cheers

It'd be helpful to see a right side of that entry ("command" column).

The command is C:\Users\DSE\AppData\Local\Temp\svchost.exe

The location is HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Tell me if I should do the previous process again more thoroughly cause I didn't complete what you asked for.
