I got a yp-t8z mp3 player yesterday. I put the software cd into my pc and installed one out of two software. When I went to install the second one it got to where it says"registering files" when the installation is about done and then my pc locks up and screen goes black and it restarts itself.

I did a restore to before I installed it and it was still on my desktop so...

I downloaded the same software from the website thinking maybe it was the software on the cd since the other one did just fine. Well the new software didnt work either. It just did the same thing.

When it boots back up it says that the system has recovered from a serious error. Here is the error code:

Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 bfacb0e6, parameter3 addcfb3c, parameter4 00000000.

and this:

Why is it doing this?

I also wanted to post and say that I went into safe mode and it fully installed. It didnt work for some reason fully in safe mode probably because all the OS's functions arent loaded or the one I need.

When I boot back up into normal mode it says system has recovered from a serious error and the program wont work.

From: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm

0x0000008E: KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
A kernel mode program generated an exception which the error handler didnít catch. These are nearly always hardware compatibility issues (which sometimes means a driver issue or a need for a BIOS upgrade).

Also, this error is also known to be associated with a virus (from a google for Error code 1000008e )

That did not fix it and now every time it starts it gives that error that the system has just recovered from a serious error.

You might go to Samsung's website, CGM, to see if there are FAQs or user forums where your problem is discussed. You may have a corrupt disk in which case you could exchange it.

Its not corrupt because I downloaded the same program from there website and it did the same thing. What is weird is it restarts right as it starts to finish the install so the program doesnt work right.

I found out I can go to the folder and the incons to the program in the folder work and let me open the program but then some of the features dont work and will make the computer restart just like it does during installation.

This could just be bad software. I'd suggest uninstalling the software and seeing if the error re-occurs.

The manual for the product suggests corrective measures if problems occur during the installation - have you tried this measures? And, if so, what was the result.
