Ok, so, being new here, I'm not quite sure if this is being posted in the right section, but if not I'm sure someone will tell me.

I'm currently in college and I realized the campus cable television sucks... I'm trying to figure out how I would be able to stream cable tv over the internet from my home. I have an older computer that should be able to handle what I need to do, and I also have an older ATI All-in-Wonder card with the cable tuner built into it. Would it be possible to set something like this up using VLC Player, and if so, would it be possible to change the channel from my computer on campus? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
