I'm pretty new to all this, and all I know is that I have a Compaq with Windows 7 64x installed that BSOD's me whenever I try to log-in. Actually, sometimes I can't even get into safe mode. This is really frustrating and if anyone has the patience for a noob, I'd appreciate it.

Enter safe mode and do the following:

Download/install BlueScreenView, http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html .

Double-click BlueScreenView.exe file.

When scanning is done, Edit/Select All...then File/Save Selected Items.

Save the report as BSOD.txt.

Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content and paste it into your next reply.

Louis,

Thanks for the reply, but as it turns out, I've just reformatted my laptop back to factory settings. I just backed up my HD on to external so it was no big deal.

Thanks a lot.
