Im trying to see if there are any 'safe' free games sites you guys would recommend I let my kids play on .
Im convinced that a s coupel of viruses we picked up have come from them going on some of these free games sites, that takes them to goodness knows what site.

I have just installed Kaspersky Intenet which i hope will help protect, and Ive laid the law down about not downloading anything. But can they still get a virus just by going to the site and playing it 'online' ?

Any advice much welcomed

Well, there's silent/ or just normal java drive by's. But on popular game sites, they really shouldn't happen. I suggest you tell them to not click any ad's, bad idea.
Playing online usually shouldn't do anything to the actual computer, but there's always players. Make sure they don't convince your child to do something like calling a number and giving them the pin, give out personal info, give out their account, usual online safety rules applies.

Here's a few sites I know of:
http://www.miniclip.com/games/en/
http://www.addictinggames.com/
http://armorgames.com/
http://www.gamesfree.ca/

Also, watch out what games they play. I assume they're like under 8, so they might be lured into violent games. Theres not much wrong, but make sure they don't get addicted. Take the out.

Hey,

I've been going here for the last 9 months. It's not a site per se, it's a thread that is updated weekly.

It's a list of 'Free And Legal PC Games.' I found it on the PCGamer forum and Free PC Games section.

Not all of the games are kid friendly but there are a lot that are. I dl'ed some of the platformers and arcade games for my kid and they play a few games on CN.

If you don't want your computer infected, or just want to be safe, I suggest a sandboxed web browser.
It works wonders, and it isn't limited to what you can and can't do.

It's like a sandbox, whatever happens inside the sandbox, whether you make a sandcastle or a moat, it stays there. It won't go outside.
Similarly, if there’s a virus in the sandbox, it can't reach the rest of your computer, and you will be notified.

Sandboxie
