Hello everyone, I am new to the forum! I need some help in choosing a laptop that will only be used for playing the online game, Second Life.

Currently I am using an older Gateway laptop with a Intel 945 Chipset and the graphics look fine on the game, but my processor is low and I only have 1GB of memory. As a result, the laptop shuts down after a while of playing the game.

I don't want to spend very much money on this laptop, as it's just for the game and not other programs or email. I found a laptop on the Walmart website, http://www.walmart.com/ip/Acer-AS5736Z-4016/15125403, and other customers have mentioned being able to use it to play the Sims 3 and other games, but I'd like your opinions.

If you can help me find something in my price range that would work, I'd appreciate it. I am not looking for top of the line gaming performance, just being able to play and walk around in the game smoothly as I do now, but perhaps with a better processor and memory, so my laptop doesn't shut down on me. :)

My budget for the new computer is: not much...no more than $450.00

What are the primary uses for this computer (IE: mail, web browsing, programming, games, etc)? Second Life game

What software do you intend on using on the computer? This will be used mainly for Second Life.

Do you play games? If so, what type of games? Second Life

Do you tend to have a lot of programs running at the same time, or do you close every program when you are done using it? No, I always close out programs.

Do you store a lot of pictures or music on the computer? Not for this new computer.

Thank you for your help! :)

Thee most likely reason your old Gateway laptop turned off is probably of overheating. This laptop is better because of the graphics.

Hi and thank you for your help! I actually just placed an order for this exact model after reading elsewhere that people have been able to use it with games such as Second Life. :)

Thanks again!
