My cd player will not play cds when inserted. So then I go to My Computer and the drive itself is gone. Then I go to Run, and type in D:\ and the message I get back is that location is unavailable. It also says that it might be on another hard drive on this computer. What happened and where did it go?

Dell Inspiron 1150
Windows XP

Thank you for your help, Mike

Make sure your IDE cable is connected to the drive and the motherboard also make sure that the 4 pin molex connector is secured in the slot.
