Have a Dell Dimension 2400, bought in 2004, running XP home operating system, service pack 2, 256 MB DDR SDRAM at 333MHz memory , Pentium 4 processor at 2.66 gigahertz, 80G hard drive. Use AVG 8.5 free antivirus, free Zone Alarm 8.0 firewall and free Ad-Aware. Keep getting low virtual memory warning and says windows is fixing but never actually does. Added 512 MB of memory that made things work good again back in December but now am back to the same slow operation and same virtual memory issue that made me finally break down and try to fix with the added memory. Problem just slowly keeps getting worse and worse both times. Would say takes about a half year from start of problem until I get fed up with progressively slower running computer. Use mostly for surfing the web and reading email. Using dial up, nothing more. If working like after installing memory would be happy. To cheap to pay for broadband or good antivirus, firewall or maleware protection. Any help would be appreciated. Will not be able to read anything until next weekend.
