I've just joined as I have a problem I cannot find in my collection of books on computers. I searched on google for my problem and "Bleeping" came up so I decided to join. I have been experimenting with an old computer which finally collapsed after about 12 years activity. I planned to build a new one but found a good HP refurbished one and bought it. My need is that I want to transfer data from my old hard discs (IDE) to my new SATA hard disc. So i will start to search your forums for information. I am a senior citizen living in the highlands of scotland. the nearest computer shop is 90 miles from my home.

I look forward to exchanging ideas.
