Hi,

This is my first post Here,I tried my best to do my home work before posting here and then gave up.
I am on windows xp sp3, recently I sensed that I may be infected with virus cos machine was behaving weird
i.e if net is connected before windows starts up ,exactly after 3 mins it freezes,

During Every start up I observed that My Eset Antivirus was getting disabled,
I ran Combifix, It said c:/windows/system32/msgsvc.dll was infected and showed recovered from the cache,

But upon running the combifix, still it shows Msgsvc.dll is infected,I am confused,
So I tried to replace only that file from my old Norton ghost Image,(I am sure the previous back up was CLEAN) dunno if it is infected at startup.

and also it showed up the registry entry which was locked.

I tried sophos Anti Root-kit, it showed registry entry which was locked , and up on googling , doubted to be
activity of some root kit virus , I am pasting the log from Sophos-Anti-rootkit
Area:	Windows registry
Description:	Hidden registry value
Location:	\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\RNG\Seed
Removable:	No
Notes:	(type 3, length 416) "I1\xf4\x88\x04(\x01\x14\xc5\xca\xfa_\xf5\xcffn\x1flBH;\x1d\xbb\x84n\xc3\x98\xa3\x07h\xb8\xa1\x8e?q\xca\xa8Sm\xaf\xa8\xe5)Q\xa3\xe5\x99\xcb\x8eg\xa2\xa4\xbc7\xad\x9b\xefQd\xcf\xf2\xef\xb7\xdeS\xfd\xb2\xdd\x81\xd0\x0ao" ... "\x01\xf1\xc1z\xb6|\x8a\x87"

Before the above run sophos only once showed up the below locked entry too,but now it is not showing up,Combifix has
it in the log
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\CLSID\{7B8E9164-324D-4A2E-A46D-0165FB2000EC}]

But the above registry was not showed in the Combifix log, Combifix contains 2 more registry which are locked,
I used RegASSASSIN.exe to remove those reg entries in safe mode but was unsuccesful,

I Have Tried running dds ,RKunhooker , Combifix, and logs are generated and are ready, once you permit me to
to attach I will do so,

Please kindly help me out,I have all my academic projects stored on the comp and environment has been set up
I dont want to screw it up,

I will make sure to follow up this topic and reply as soon as possible.
Thanking you in anticipation

With Regards
