For some reason the Microsoft Fix It Solution Centre will not accept, and so help me, with problems. Instead, I get the message :

Fix It trouble Shooter cannot continue because an error occurs.
This Trouble Shooter doesn't apply to this computer.

I have been able to make use of this facility since my PC was new (last May) and this is a recent message.

I see, from Google, that others complain of this problem butseemingly no solution has been given, although the failure to install Update KB976902 has been suggested as a possible cause of this problem.I have checked, and this update was installed successfully on my PC.

Can anyone help, please?

My THANKS in advance.

Broni, my Internet Explorer (8) occasionally refused to display the page and I checked out the Fixit Solution centre only to be met with the above message.
I would like the Centre back in working order as a precaution!!

I installed I.E. 9 this afternoon.

You're the second person ( just today), which reports same issue on Windows 7.
It failed to work on my Vista as well.

No my Internet Explorer is workng fine now (touch wood).

To be honest, I don't need the Fixit Solution Centre at this moment: I just want it to work. Other people, according to Google, have (had) the same problem, with no remedy.

Well, you answered your own question:

Other people, according to Google, have (had) the same problem, with no remedy.

Up to MS, I guess....

Broni: I meant I haven't found a Google answer with a solution.

Thank you
, anyway. I have always found Bleeping Computer .com experts and "readers" helpful.

Thank you, Jacee. That's fixed.

Now I'd like to find out why the Fixit Solution Centre has given up on me. I can't find the appropriate contact e-mail for Microsoft!!
