Hi all, Im not too clever with PCs, but recently Ive noticed a fault when I go to control panel. Most of the sub menus in there wont work, it just keeps saying "windows\system32\rundll32.exe application not found

Can I sort this myself or do I need to take my desktop to PCworld or similar?

Go here: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Scroll down to item no 12: EXE (lnk and regfile) Fix for Windows XP

Click it and choose "Run"

FWIW: Even though the registry edits from Kelly's are safe and routinely used...members should always be reminded to backup the registry before attempting to modify it.

A good tool for backing up the registry, ERUNT Registry Backup Tool - http://www.snapfiles.com/get/erunt.html .
