Hello

I am fairly new with Gimp, I researched on how to make a transparency .jpeg file

I have a image I got to cut of a background and I want to save that image as my logo. SO what I am trying to accomplish is to make the image stand by itself.

I don't know how to save the image by itself with out having a background behind it.
I was using the transparency background, but when I save it it only saves as a .xcf extension...?

Any help I would greatly appreciate it
