I have followed the steps for removal of the Windows Restore virus. The virus keeps restarting the computer when I attempt to run Rkill app from the "D" drive. It also continues to give me an error message when I type: %userprofile%\desktop\iexplore.exe from "run" as per instructions.

Have you copied the file from the D drive to your desktop, and then run from there? The run command above won't work if the file is not on your desktop.

I was able to run it from the D drive. I got a log from Rkill but the black screen associated with the virus is still present.

I think it's working. No more fake messages and I have successfully downloaded Malwarebytes.

Keep getting this after restart and after desktop icons load. Recently had problem with Windows Restore virus. The blue screen font seems off which leads me to believe I still have traces of the Restore virus which may be the culprit as this screen also appeared during my issues with said virus.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I merged your new topic in the log forum to your topic here as you didn't follow the prep. guide and this topic was already here.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
