combofix wont finish

Hi,

New member here. Thanks for a great forum.

I ran combofix and it wont finish. The scan took about 10 minutes, and the Preparing Log Report has been running for almost 1/2 an hour. I am a bit concerned that it wont ever stop.

Is there anything that I should be doing to speed this along or stop it from continuing? Its almost 4am and I am going to let it run overnight.

Your comments and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include the link to this topic in your new topic and a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

Once you have created the new topic, please reply back here with a link to the new topic.

Quit the program by closing the window. Once you have done so, please follow the instructions in the post above.

Thanks, but the window refuses to close. System seems locked up. Can I power down and reboot???

edit: the window closed but I have no icons on the screen including the start button. same question- can I power down?

edit2: I rebooted and everything came up correctly. Checking for any logs...

Hello,

I deleted your new topic in the log forum as you posed the same questions in your post above.

If you did get a CF log, please post it along with the DDS and GMER logs if you are able to produce them in a new topic that provides contextual information etc. Once again, please follow the instructions in post 2 of this topic.

Not worth it, thanks. Too much trouble. My computer was dead and you have me looking on other links from my cell phone WHICH IS THE ONLY THING WORKING.

My computer is frozen with a program that has all kinds of problems running. All I wanted to know is if I could reboot my computer safely. Nothing more, nothing less. And I get pointed to other posts and links.

This program isnt worth the hassle involved. I'm just lucky that I could get back my original screens and didn't experience a complete system meltdown.

I'm out. Program and all of it's accoutrement deleted.

Then what made you want to run Combofix in the first place?
