I was working on a friends computer where all there files were gone or so it seemed. I then ran combofix which returned the icons on the desktop screen. However when I went to the c: the folders were there but nothing in them or so it seemed. I thought mounting the drive in BSD would work and the drive would not detect. I then tried to mount the drive with windows 7 and xp and again the drive would not detect. I then put the hard drive back into the original machine and it would no longer boot. When I ran combo fix I found that it removed the windows repair spyware programs. But I'm not sure if it is the drive or the spyware. Would the spyware not allow the drive to read in other operating systems? Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and sorry for the delay.

First of all, if this is an IDE drive, did you set the jumpers back from Slave to Master?

What do you see when you try to power the computer on?

regards, Elise
