My comp just recently got infected with something. I was surfin the net and then on my desktop are two new icons that look like the windows security shield, one blue, the other green. Also down in the task bar is the windows globe with the small windows icon that flases to a red circle X. its got a pop up bubble saying "Your computer is infected! Dangerous malware infection was detected on your PC The system will now download and install most efficient antimalware program to prevent data loss and your private information theft. Click here to protect your computer from the biggest malware threats." Ive gone through the Task Manager and found the process nvctrl.exe, booted in safe mode did a Norton Symantec AV full sweep of my comp, as well as Trend Micro Anti-spyware full scan. it came up with a Med-High level privacy threat. Of course i forgot the name of it and i cleaned it out. After i rebooted to normal mode (hoping the popup thing was gone), nothing has changed except the nvctrl.exe is gone. I just tried to see what kind of "antimalware program" this thing is reccomending and its Spyaxe. of course it finds things, but you have to pay before it will clean them for you. So i unistalled it. Now im at a dead end. Here are my comp specs and a Hijackthis Log:

Intel Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
512 MB RAM
Windows XP HE SP2
Used Internet explorer, now using Mozilla Firefox

Nevermind, I have found the solution and succesfully cleaned out the Spyaxe and other crappy things. I used the Smitrem.exe program found on http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com. I found it through other links, thanks alot y'all!
