I have a compaq mini netbook and the touchpad stopped working while trying to clean a virus off the system (I think it wsa caused by the on-off-on-off stuff where, honestly, I lost my patient and just hard-stopped it a few times.

It is virus free now, but the touchpad will not work. I have located and installed the proper driver (sp43663) from HP.com, rebooted, but it still doesn't work. I've got a wirelss mouse installed now, but when I try to look at the device on the netbook it only sees what it's using now.

Suggestions? I'm stuck.

It's a compaq mini 110c - 1001nr not 100.
