Looking to upgrade motherboard! Currently running GA-MA770T-UD3P. It's worked great for me.
I KINDA know what to look for but I'm still not super experienced, so looking for some guiding!

Phnenom II x2 550 BE
Radeon HD 6850
G.Skill DDR3 1600

Probably looking for AMD mobo, and just 1 PCIe x16 slot; I'm NOT planning on running crossfire and probably won't be for a long time. USB 3.0 is a nice upgrade too, but I think most new mobos are USB 3.0 compatible.

And yes, you bet I'm OCing! :)

Budget is around 100$, I might go up to 120$ if I can find sometime nice!

Thanks

I would head on over to http://www.newegg.com and see if you can find something there.

Why exactly are you wanting to upgrade? this Is the 800 series variant of your board, with sata III and USB 3.0 support, but thats really the only upgrade youd get. On, and the second PCie 16 slot, which you wouldnt be using anyway. Honestly, unless you need sata III or USB 3.0 theres probably not a huge reason to update at this point in time. I think, if it were me Id save my dimes for the new bulldozer line of CPUs to come out, and then by a new CPU and motherboard.

I'm gonna have to agree with patriot with this, you rather save up and get the new Bulldozer line of CPUs as patriot had mentioned.

I also agree, you should hold off until mid June-ish, which is when AMD is rumored to be releasing their new Zambezi CPU's(The enthusiast version of Bulldozer).

Never heard of the Zambezi CPU line before.

Zambezi is a subset of the Bulldozer architecture aimed at enthusiasts and comes in four, six, and eight core models. Phenom and Athlon will also be phased out, Zambezi will use the FX moniker.

I hope the pricing would be decent.
