If something on my pc needs the internet connection it just connects itself anytime. Its really anoying. I set it to never dial a connection and it just keeps doing it.

I have XP and have scanned for spyware and found nothing.

What else could I do to make it stop?

Please see this link from Microsoft - Modem Automatically Attempts to Establish a Dial-Up Connection When You Start Your Computer or Start a Program

Hope that helps,
