My husband's computer kept redirecting his web searches to a different website. I did an internet search to figure out what might be the problem and followed the directions on your website to install Spybot Search and Destroy. I have Avg and Malwarebytes on the infected computer, both updated and both ran scans and found nothing. When I installed Spybot S&D it ran and found 29 problems (all red). When I clicked on the Fix selected problems button the following error appeared.

Unexpected error in fixing problems (Cannot create file "C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc\hosts". Access is denied)

I can't close the Error box by either by clicking the OK button or the red x in the right hand corner. The only thing I can do is shut down the computer. What should I do?

The computer has Windows XP Professional version 2002 Service Pack 3

Thanks for any help you can offer.
