Excel formula

Need to wright a "Left" formula to move the first 13 characters in a cell to another column. Can you tell me where to find a sample formula.

Here are a few pretty good examples.

The syntax for the Left function is:

Left( text, number_of_characters )

Do you literally want to MOVE the contents of cells?
That might get a bit tricky
In the beginning there was the command line.
