Hello All,
I have a situation. I have a dell inspiron 3800 laptop that was just laying around and had already been dban'd. I need a laptop with xp and serial + ethernet port to communicate with some Flashwave Optical equipment using netsmart 500 gui. Vista does not communicate well with this equipment. I want to install xp with sp3 on it to use for my work. Does Microsoft still charge for xp even though they don't support it anymore? Where can i get a copy or serial from? Thanks

No Windows version version comes free.
You have to buy it.

You can always order a set of restoration cd's from Dell
They should still have them & the price should be reasonable
In the beginning there was the command line.

I have installed SP3 hundreds of times on many different systems and have never had an issue with it at all.
In the beginning there was the command line.
