I have an Asus M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 motherboard, AMD Phenom II x 4 955, and 4 x 2G Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 Memory. The only config that will boot is with a stick in slot A1 & A2. Any other config will not boot. Not A1 & B1, not A2 & B2 and not all 4. When I run CPU Z, it says my memory is in slot 1 & 3. When I run Belarc, it says my memory is 0 & 2 (which is also 1 & 3). My memory is physically in slot 1 & 2. Can anyone help in figuring out what is wrong here.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that all main boards have information on the board if you have lost the Gods book for your main board
Generally 2 slots are deadicated to DDR3 and the other 2 slots are deadicated to DDR2
I find that the slots are color coaded
If your sticks are the same like DDR3 1066hz or 1333hz these sticks work together but run at the slower rate
hope this helps you

All four slots on that board are DDR3. I have that same board, the dual channel works in channel 1 and 2, and 3 and 4. If you have 2 sticks, they are supposed to run and 1 and 2, and if you have four then of course, fill all four up. What kind of ram are you using is my next question.
