Hi!

I've caught a malware, at least i think it's one... Sometimes, when i browse, i'm redirected to other sites, or i get a pop up. I tried using Malware Bytes and Spybot search and destroy, but the pop ups and redirecting keep on coming. I found some Trojan and i deleted them with the same tools. I use Windows XP and i just installed AVG. I just removed daemon tools, cause i saw on other posts that it might interfere. Oh, and my computer and my internet connection seems slower... Sometimes, i hear the sound of a windows pop up, but there is none...
Can someone help me?!?
Thanks!!

Here are the DDS, the GMER and RKUnhooker reports as requested on other posts i saw :

Hello and welcome. Please follow these guidelines while we work on your PC:
  • Malware removal is a sometimes lengthy and tedious process. Please stick with the thread until I’ve given you the “All clear.” Absence of symptoms does not mean your machine is clean!
  • Please do not run any scans or install/uninstall any applications without being directed to do so.
  • Please note that the forum is very busy and if I don't hear from you within three days this thread will be closed.

Posted Image Download ComboFix from one of the following locations:
Link 1
Link 2

VERY IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

* IMPORTANT - ComboFix will not run until AVG is uninstalled. This is because AVG falsely detects ComboFix (or its embedded files) as a threat and may remove them resulting in the tool not working correctly which in turn can cause "unpredictable results". Since AVG cannot be effectively disabled before running ComboFix, the author recommends you to uninstall AVG first. You may do this through Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs or you can use this tool for a more complete removal:

Download AppRemover from here saving it to your desktop.
  • Double click to run AppRemover
  • Follow the prompts to remove AVG
  • Reboot
Once you've removed AVG with this tool please continue with these instructions
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Posted Image

  • Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Posted Image

  • Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.
Notes:
1. Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
2. Do not "re-run" Combofix. If you have a problem, reply back for further instructions.

Please include the following in your next post:
  • The Attach.txt log from DDS
  • ComboFix log

Hi!

Allright, i uninstalled AVG and Ad Aware. I ran combofix and here is the log. As asked, here is as well the attach from DDS before i ran combofix.

By the way, my external hard drive was plugged in when i got the malware. Since then, i unplugged it, but i don't know if i should do something about it??

Thanks! :)

Please do this next:

Posted Image P2P - I see you have P2P software (uTorrent & Limewire) installed on your machine. We are not here to pass judgment on file-sharing as a concept. However, we will warn you that engaging in this activity and having this kind of software installed on your machine will always make you more susceptible to malware infections. Please see this post for more information. I recommend that you uninstall these now. You can do so via Control Panel >> Add or Remove Programs. If you choose to keep these applications, please do not use them until our fixes at BC are complete.

Posted Image Go to My Computer-> Tools-> Folder Options-> View tab:
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading:
  • Select - Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck- Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Also, make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types.
  • Click OK. (Remember to Hide files and folders once done)
Please go to one of the below sites to scan the following files:
virscan.org
Virus Total

Click on Browse, and upload the following file for analysis:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\fjpoe.sys

Then click Submit. Allow the file to be scanned, and then please copy and paste the results here for me to see.
If it says already scanned -- click "reanalyze now"
Please post the results in your next reply.

Posted Image You have this program installed, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (MBAM). Please update it and run a scan.

Open MBAM
  • Click the Update tab
  • Click Check for Updates
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • The program will close to update and reopen.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Quick Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Uncheck any entries from C:\System Volume Information or C:\Qoobox
  • Make sure that everything else is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Please include the following in your next post:
  • File analysis results
  • MBAM log

Hi!

Here are the reports as asked. Nothing found by MBAM. By the way, i can't log in to my facebook account, it seems like my password is not valid or my username. I tried on other computers and it worked just fine...
I just got the sound of a device that you unplug, but i didn't do anything!

Thanks!

How is it running now? Please do this next:

Posted Image Run JavaRa to completely remove your old, unsecure Java applications:

  • Please download JavaRa (Copyright © 2008 RaProducts.org) and unzip it to your desktop.
  • Double-click on JavaRa.exe to start the program.
  • From the drop-down menu, choose English or the appropriate language...and click on Select.
  • JavaRa will open; click on Remove Older Versions to remove the older versions of Java installed on your computer.
  • Click Yes when prompted. When JavaRa is done, a notice will appear that a logfile has been produced. Click OK.
  • A logfile will pop up. I don't need to see it unless you have a problem or question.
Posted Image Please run ESET Online Scanner
  • Place a check mark in the box YES, I accept the Terms Of Use
  • Click the Start button.
  • Now click the Install button.
  • Click Start. The scanner engine will initialize and update.
  • Do Not place a check mark in the box beside Remove found threats.
  • Click the Scan button. The scan will now run, please be patient.
  • When the scan finishes click the Details tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of the C:\ProgramFiles\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt into your next reply.
Please include the following in your next post:
  • How is the computer running now?
  • ESET log

It runs much smoother and faster now!
My only concern is again with facebook and msn messenger. I can't login to any of them...

When i made the ESET scan, i remembered that the first thing that made me realize i had a malware was when i saw antimalware doctor installed on my pc.
Do i ask ESET to remove it?

Here is the ESET log, with the 3 infected files :

C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Documents and Settings\JS\Application Data\0521DAE16DEE304CDC00DD332C018DDD\enemies-names.txt.vir Win32/Adware.AntimalwareDoctor.AE.Gen application
C:\Qoobox\Quarantine\C\Documents and Settings\JS\Application Data\0521DAE16DEE304CDC00DD332C018DDD\local.ini.vir Win32/Adware.AntimalwareDoctor.AE.Gen application

You don't need to remove those ESET detections. They are all either safely in the ComboFix quarantine or your system restore cache. They will all be removed when we uninstall ComboFix. Can you tell me exactly what is happening when you try to login to Facebook and Messenger?

Since your logs look to be free of malware, lets take care of some cleanup. Once you are done with these steps, uninstall and reinstall Messenger then try logging in again:

Posted Image Your Adobe reader needs to be updated. Please visit Adobe's site and grab the newest version. Be sure to watch for and uncheck any boxes offering to install other software.

Posted Image Uninstall ComboFix
  • Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard or click Start -> Run. Copy and past the following text into the run box that opens and press OK:
    Combofix /Uninstall
Posted Image

Posted Image To re-enable your Emulation drivers, double click DeFogger to run the tool.
  • The application window will appear
  • Click the Re-enable button to re-enable your CD Emulation drivers
  • Click Yes to continue
  • A 'Finished!' message will appear
  • Click OK
  • DeFogger will now ask to reboot the machine - click OK
IMPORTANT! If you receive an error message while running DeFogger, please post the log defogger_enable which will appear on your desktop.
Your Emulation drivers are now re-enabled.
Posted Image Delete the following tools along with any other logs you saved from our work:
  • DDS
  • GMER
  • Rootkit Unhooker
  • aswMBR
  • DeFogger
Posted Image Download TFC to your desktop
  • Close any open windows.
  • Double click the TFC icon to run the program
  • TFC will close all open programs itself in order to run,
  • Click the Start button to begin the process.
  • Allow TFC to run uninterrupted.
  • The program should not take long to finish it's job
  • Once its finished it should automatically reboot your machine,
  • if it doesn't, manually reboot to ensure a complete clean
Posted Image Once you're done with this and you've uninstalled/reinstalled Messenger, let me know if your login troubles persist.
