I am using Windows XP Professional with SP 3. When I logoff the PC, I get an automatic
logon. I must disconnect the power source plug so that the PC does not log back on. Can anyone help me resolve the problem.

This is relatively new problem.

Sounds like a registry issue. My problem is the opposite: after I log in I'm immediately logged off. I booted with ERD Commander 2005 to have a look at my registry and saw in HKLM~Software~Microsoft~Windows NT~Winlogon some spurious entries I had to fix which pointed to my temp directory.
The real art of conversation isn't just saying the right thing at the right time, but leaving unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
