This is my log after using ad aware spybot and others a couple times. I think I removed the spyaxe. The other thing my computer is doing is shutting down half way through scanning. I am not able to run my Mcafee virus scan because it shuts my system down in the middle of the scan. And everytime I restart the computer dies in the process. Can anyone help?

When you say it shuts it down, what do you mean? Does your computer just reboot or does it actually shut down?

The computer just shuts down. It is a power failure it does not try to reboot it justs powers down abruptly. I decided to just wipe it clean and start fresh so I started that process I could not make it through loading XP because it would continue to shut off. So I unplugged one of my drives to take the power load off of it and it worked I was able to get XP PRO to load. What I have noticed is my Video card seems to have an issue it will not install properly and I recall I would get some windows error about driver issues before and I am wondering if that is my problem. My power supply is fairly new, it is a thermaltake purepower 420watt power supply so I don't think it is that. I think I will try a new video card any suggestions. I have an AMD barton XP3000 processor and an ASUS A7V8X-X motherboard. I don't do any gaming The computer is strictly for recording music with ProTools. Thanks.

A card like this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814102408

would be perfect. Relatively inexpensive and still has decent power.

Thanks , I actually just purchased an ASUS V9400-X that is close to that but was a little less. I installed it and everything seemed to go well. I connected my extra hard drive and formatted it and everything was good until today. Now it is Shutting off again at random times. The last two times it shut off it seemed like there was not even that much of a load on the CPU. I cannot figure out what it may be. Any ideas?

Could you have a heat problem? Does this happen if you leave a side cover off?

It is in a rackmount server case and the heat has not been an issue this winter. I did have problems with heat this summer with this computer. Now it is partially out of the rack with the top off.
