My laptop has come in contact with a virus. It was attached in an email that I stupidly clicked on. A warning came up (not sure which) and it was downhill from there. It restarted, my desktop was black, windows icons are missing and I can't get to any of my documents or windows files. I did 2 different virus removal scans and both turned up 3 infected files. It seemed to help a bit. but all it's brought back was my desktop. I still cant get the internet, my documents or windows files. I can still get the control panel and there is sound. I'm stumped where to go from here.

I have a windows 7 (64 bit), hp Pavilion dv5
