We have a redirect virus. We were told that this was the place to get help. I tried to download ComboFix, but was told that the link was corrupt, then I read that I should have someone from BC walk me through the process. Please help.

You might want to post this in the "Am I infected? What do I do?" forum. You will get a good response there but be patient as they do get busy.

I was told I needed to post this here instead of XP forum. We have a redirect virus. Anytime we attempt a google search we get redirected to a shopping site. I was told by a friend who works in IT that this was the place I needed to go to get help. I have a Dell with XP home. I run Microsoft Security and Malbytes.

Hello,

Was that the only MalwareBytes scan you did since you started experiencing the redirect issues? If not, please post the one you did prior so we can see what MalwareBytes found.

Hello,

Thank you for posting those logs. I see among other things that you were/are infected with Sysinternals Antivirus - a rogue application. We have an uninstall guide for that, but you have already followed that. Therefore, please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.
