Hi. I need to update my graphic driver (currently I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850)...I was wondering: do I need to uninstall this before installing the new one, or can I just install the new one immediately? Thanks..

You should be able to install the new one and the computer / graphics card will just do its own thing and pick up the new one as the one it wants to use. Do you need help in finding the driver or are you good on that?

Thanks...some guy at HP helped me find the new one. I've gotten some conflicting advice on this, so not entirely sure what to do...HP guy says no need to uninstall the old one first...you agree...some other guy says remove all traces of the current one first...

You really only need to completely remove the driver when going to a different card design. Meaning if you switched from ATI to Nvidia or vice versa.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.
